We have an exciting opportunity to join our event catering team for Melbourne Cup Carinval 2024.  The role is based at our production kitchen in Hawthorn (Melbourne), working casual shifts, 5/7 day roster.  You will need to be available to work from 21 October - 10 November 2024 (including weekends and Public Holiday)

As part of our kitchen team your duties will include:

• Performing general cooking duties (including baking and pastry making) aligned to current menus.
• Provide guidance and support to kitchen hands.
• Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen and following SOPs.

To succeed in this role we are looking for applicants who are able to demonstrate:

Essential

• Completion of an apprenticeship or passed the appropriate trade test and experience in cooking, baking, pastry cooking and butchering duties.
• Food Safety Handling and understanding safe food handling. 
• A team player, with ability to adapt and change in a growing business environment, and support others to achieve individual and business targets.
• Good verbal and written communication skills along with strong computer skills in Microsoft Office suite and experience working with online document management and auditing systems.
• Understanding and knowledge of safe working processes and practices.
