Accommodation Supervisor - La Trobe University (Full Time contract)

We are looking for an accomplished experienced employee to join our team as a Accommodation Supervisor on a full-time contract. This role is based at La Trobe University in Bundoora and is responsible for efficient and safe work practices by cleaning employees, and ensuring all duties stated on the specification are carried out with minimal to no interruption to the client and in a manner which does not endanger employees, clients, or the general public.

The role is also responsible for ensuring all equipment is maintained in good working order and that all deliveries are made in a timely manner.

 As the Accommodation Supervisor at Cirka, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure cleaners’ rooms are maintained in a neat and tidy manner. Ensure employees are using correct chemicals and dilutions.
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working condition including arranging for the same or next day repair of damaged/faulty equipment, including ensuring faulty/broken machinery reported, tagged out and placed in appropriate area.
  • Ensuring all pre-work checks for site machinery are completed and documented.
  • Ensure all equipment is tested and tagged with up-to-date equipment register (if required). 
  • Ensure all WR (Check-ins, Check-outs, Short Stays, etc.) are attended according to their deadline/client request.
  • Propose and implement best practice procedures where appropriate i.e., streamlined procedures.
  • Regular interaction with employees regarding job performance and expectations. Escalate any issues to a Manager. 
  • Liaise with stakeholders and clients in relation to the agreed cleaning, servicing, and functioning of the site/venue.
  • Work according to set budgetary constraints, thereby retaining profitability.
  • Conduct site inductions and training, including toolbox meetings, for all employees on site.
  • Responsible for ensuring all accidents and incidents within area if responsibility are reported, investigated and actions (including training) is completed and closed out within agreed timescales.
  • Rostering/ scheduling of duties in case of unplanned employee absences or annual leave.
  • Complete cleaning quality inspections and site inspections reports as required and set out in the site inspection schedule. Ensuring reports are completed and filed in appropriate folder.
  • Regular stock takes and ordering of chemicals, materials and consumables ensuring adequate stock levels of the above. 
  • Where in place, ensure the communication book is checked daily and any actions are completed and signed off, making certain that site maintenance issues are reported to a Manager.
  • Ensure all company and client (where applicable) policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities as directed by a Manager or defined in the quality or other management systems.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you can demonstrate experienced in:

  • Strong supervision and communication skills, with ability to effectively delegate work and tasks and ensure they are completed in accordance with expected standards.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of safe working processes and practices.
  • Basic computer skills and understanding of Microsoft office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
