We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Porter to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for moving furniture, setting up events, swapping items, and supporting teams by allocating necessary items. The role requires a high level of physical fitness, punctuality, effective communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team to work at La Trobe University (Plenty Rd, Bundoora VIC 3086).

The role:

• Casual contract 
• Shifts: Monday to Friday, flexible shifts between 7AM and 5PM

Key Responsibilities. 

• Move furniture and other heavy items safely and efficiently.
• Set up and dismantle events, ensuring all equipment is in place and functioning.
• Swap items between locations as required, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
• Support teams by allocating and organizing necessary items and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements:

• Physical fitness: Ability to lift and move heavy items frequently.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Working with children updated.
• Strong communication skills: ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
• Puntuality: Consistently arrive on time and complete tasks within designated time frames.
• Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support colleagues as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in similar role.
• Familiarity with basic event setup and logistics.

Working conditions:

• This position involves physical labor and may require working outdoors or in varying weather conditions. 
• Flexible working hours may be required, including evenings and weekends, depending on event schedules.
• Under RT&DA 2020 award
• Rate $32.84/hour
• Casual position between 20 to 40 hour a week.
